In past years we had Luncheons at Exmoor Country Club, Rosebud, Conway Farms, Stoney River, Holly’s, Tsukasa, Restaurant Michael, Southgate, Knollwood Country Club and Tramontos.
Daytime & Nightime Activities
A variety of activities are schedules during the day such as: Antiques, Bicycle Riding, Book Discussion, Dog Walking, Golf, Good Food and Friends, Green Thumb (or Not), International Connections, Mah Jongg, Movie Matinee Mavens, Needlework, Preschool Playgroup, Gourmet Group, Scrapbooking and Tennis.
Variety of evening events are scheduled through out the year. Last year we had Dinner and Bowling at Pinstripes, Holiday Party at the Lake Forest Club, Quiz Night, and the Progressive Dinner

When: 1st Friday of each month at 7pm

We meet the 1st Friday of every month at different members houses starting at 7pm. We welcome all members to play and it is an easy game to learn. Everyone has a great time catching up with the old friends and making new friends.
Gourmet Group

Ladies Nite Out

Cost: varies, usually $5 plus bring a drink/app to share
Wine Tasting

A social evening for couples to taste and learn a bit about different wines from around the globe. Each event focuses on wines from a specific region paired with regional food to accompany it.

Helping Hands

We provide assistance and support to other club members who are in a crisis situation (i.e. illness/death of an immediate family member, bedridden pregnancy, etc...). If your family is in crisis or you know a member who could use support (transportation, short term childcare, preparation/delivery of meals), please let me know.
International Connections
When: usually meets on the 1st Friday of the month

International Connections is a group of people who are from abroad or at some time lived outside the US. We share our international perspectives, ideas, and help each other make the transition to a new place. Please remember that you must be a current member of Newcomers’ or Encore to join our group.
Playgroups
When: Thursdays at 3:30pm
Cost: free
Newcomers with preschool and infant-aged children are invited to join the playgroup. We meet each week, on Thursdays at 3:30pm, in members' homes or varied parks throughout Lake Forest and Lake Bluff. The playgroup is a great opportunity to enjoy the company of other newcomers, while your children play. Santa comes to Playgroup each December...watch your email for dates/times!

We will visit either the Regal Cinemas Lincolnshire 20 or Kerasotes Theaters Showplace 8 in Vernon Hills for our monthly outings. Both theaters offer early afternoon showtimes, so the best film at the best time will be selected. Hope to see you at the movies!
